Join us for a theatre workshop designed to develop your attention and imagination through rigorous practice. The class is led by two teachers and consists of two parts. The first focuses primarily on movement and physicality. The second suggests stage focus and improvisation practices.
Movement and Physicality
The idea behind the class is simple: every human body becomes interesting to watch when a person moves with focus. The performer’s goal is to bring this focus to the body.
The class will begin with a short warm-up. Participants will first engage in individual work, directing attention inward. This will naturally evolve into group practice, integrating various points of focus—on oneself, a partner, or the group—while moving through space. There will also be time for pair work and peer feedback. The final part of the class will offer participants the chance to observe group work.
Stage presence
In our routine life we forget to pay attention to ourselves and just take a second to enjoy the day you are in today. It is very important to be able to communicate with yourself either in life or on the stage and this self-communication requires special attention. This workshop helps to bring the focus on your inner essence using your imagination and attention.
This part includes three stages:
• observation of communication object
• focusing attention on oneself communication
• focusing attention on the partner communication
What to Wear?
Wear loose, comfortable clothing (tracksuits, leggings, T-shirts). Avoid jeans. We’ll be dancing and moving barefoot or in socks—whichever feels best for you.
What else should I take with me?
Please take with you your favourite item that you use regularly in your life.
